How to book the vehicle?

We are a small business, husband and wife owned and operated. If our website booking tool is causing you trouble please text, call or email us and we will get your vehicle reservation sorted out right away. 907-435-7186

What size vehicle do I need?

The mid-size Crosstrek is the smallest vehicle and is great for 2 adults and 1-2 children/young adults. there will be space for 2-3 luggage bags.  
The full-size Outback is the next size up and will fit up to 4 adults with 100 lbs of luggage.

The SUV is a Hummer H3 and will fit 4 adults and have room for luggage.  The rear seat can fold down and allow for additional storage space if needed.

Picking Up and Returning Vehicles

We bring the car to you at the Homer Airport or your place of lodging within 5 miles of Homer city limits for pick up/drop off the vehicle.  We can do farther but will ask compensation for the time and fuel depending on the distance.


When returning the vehicle bring it back with the gas tank full, and lock the keys in the glove box at an agreed upon location.  We will come along shortly and pick the car up.

Minimum Rental Days?

There are no minimum rental days from May - September. October - April there is a 2 day minimum on rentals.

Checking the Tides - before you go beach combing always double and triple check the tides.

Finding Gold - Recreational gold panning is allowed at certain locations in Alaska. Prospector John in Cooper Landing offers many options to experience gold mining. Worth a stop when exploring the peninsula. Crow Creek Mine is another historic stop if you like to see the workings from the times of the gold rush, and also offers the option to mine your own gold.

Recommendations in Homer

Here are some personal recommendations for things to do in Homer.

Where to camp? When the weather is nice, the tent campground on the Homer Spit can't be beat, bring some firewood and enjoy the waves. Cottonwood Cabins also offers camping and is a beautiful space to experience the boreal countryside of Homer.

Fishing Charters - Homer is the halibut fishing capital of the world. Book with one of these personally vetted charters for a world class experience: Alaska Saltwater Adventures and Tenacious Charters

Bear Viewing -
Emerald Air Service is our recommendation for the ultimate bear viewing experience.

Local Flights _ Smokey Bay Air is our reccomendation for flightseeing and transport to the villages and hiking across cookinlet.

Restaurants - Fresh Catch, Lands End Chart Room Restaurant, The Cannery and the Saltry are all great places to eat.
Finn's Pizza and Home Run Pizza and Twisted Goat are the best. Swell Taco, Tickled Pear and Latitude 59 are perfect for light fare and Captain's Coffee and Wild Honey Bistro hit the spot.  Homer also hosts 3 Thai restaurants that are all great!

Where are you located?

We do not have a brick and mortar storefront. We can meet you at the Homer Airport or your place of lodging within 5 miles of Homer city limits to pick up/drop off the vehicle.  We can do farther but will ask compensation for the time and fuel depending on the distance.

Can we pick up/drop off the vehicle in Anchorage?

We are a small, family-owned business in Homer, Ak. We do not yet have the ability to also have a location in Anchorage. That means it costs us $600 + 2 rental days + taxes to take a vehicle one-way from Anchorage to Homer.

No smoke, blood, fish, guts or mud in the vehicle.

Insurance 

Our cars come with the standard basic liability insurance, and the car will also be covered by your own personal auto insurance should any incidents arise.  If you desire additional coverage you can purchase through 3rd party companies such as Allianz.

Offroading

No off-roading in our vehicles. The vehicles' locations are tracked, we will know if you go offroad. There is a $500 per day charge for violations. The vehicles can only be driven on sealed/bitumen made (aka paved) roads or well maintained access roads less than 1 mile long to your location.

Additional Fees

There is up to a $300 cleaning fee for excessively dirty vehicles requiring professional detailing.
No smoking in the tent or the vehicle, a $250 fee will be charged for smoking.
Included in the rental are 150 miles per day and additional miles come at $0.35 per mile.

Damages and Deposits

There is a $300 security deposit placed as a hold on your credit card during the rental period which is released when the car is returned with no damages and normal usage.
You are 100% responsible for any damages to the vehicles and equipment that are not the result of normal wear and tear, that includes flat tires, windshield damage, rock chips, dog/luggage scratches.

Taxes

There is a 10% State Sales tax on rental vehicles and 7.85% City sales tax added to the rental agreement.
